The desire to return to Mt. Chimney has been strong. Unanswered questions act like a magnet, constantly drawing her in. Encounters with Unown, people of the past, and strange creatures is too much to resist. Going alone would be foolish, but with Matias, she feels a sense of comfort.

She hikes after him with Unown F floating idly behind her. It’s the creature she found during her necropsy of Piggy Smalls. If any residual Primal Energy is anywhere to be found, hopefully the creature would be able to lead them too it, or attract others of its kind.

“You know Eris?” she a asks in surprise, trotting a little closer to look up at him curiously, “How?”

“Wait . . . seriously?!” she’s taken back, pausing in her steps to fall slightly behind him, “Well, damn,” she mutters to herself, lost in memories, “That must have been where she wound up when she disappeared from the hospital,” she’d never forget the child that called her an ‘angel’. It’s not every day you’re mistaken for one. Eva laughs, trotting to catch back up. What a small world.

Her next thought are interrupted by the sudden presence of wild pokemon. Virizion is quick to act, as always. Eva barely has time to react before the grass type is on them with a LEAF BLADE. Eva smiles, impressed as always. Eva doesn’t pursue the Bewear. She allows the beast to wander back of into the woods, wanting nothing to do with the Virizion.

“Yeah, Renier brought her to my pokecenter after . . .” she assumes Matias knows the story if he spent time with her. Eva’s voice dips a little with the resurfacing of difficult memories, “She was so . . . Small,” she still is small, but even smaller back then. Despite having treated her after the fire, Eva still felt a great responsibility for the orphaned child, especially now that she associated with Rocket. It makes her blood boil thinking of what they did to her and what they will continue to do, “She didn’t remember me either, but Renier did.”

Suddenly, the Unown dashes forward, right past Eva’s ear. It makes her jump to the side in surprise, nearly running into Matias in the process. A flash of white fires off a HIDDEN POWER at the chosen target. Eva is hopeful it’s another of its kind, but it’s just a Dottler, “Damn,” she sighs, dropping a pokeball onto the wild pokemon.

it’s sad, really, knowing that Eris Halla lost her childhood because of the cruel reality that she experienced in Kanto. Now, she associates with those monsters. Likely, she doesn’t know any better. It boils Eva’s blood just thinking about it. Upon Matia’s question she huffs, visibly tensing, “I had my suspicions,” Eva admits, “It was hard not to after they scooped her up during my last run in with Rocket,” she remembers the Xerneas tree outside of Sootopolis and their run in with Yveltal with no fondness, “Breaks my heart, really,” but she’s young. She doesn’t know any better. They likely molded her into exactly what they wanted her to be and encouraged the repression of painful Kanto memories. For all she knows, they have Eris Halla convinced that Eva’s the bad guy.

But a lost cause? “No, I don’ think so,” Perhaps, but Eva refuses to entertain the idea. She wouldn’t give up on Eris Halla.

A combination of seriousness and delight crosses her features at the sight of the Unown. Holy shit. They actually found one!

Her own Unown shoot forward without a command at the sight of its kin. There’s a frantic dance and flashes of light as the two psychic-types clash into each other until a pokeball breaks them apart, aimed for the Unown G.
